The line beginning with "Matkalipun" translates to:
Ticket nr640. With 1 child Lindberg.

I tried to find the ship on the South African side, but came up blank.
I though she would have left the USA to come to South Africa.
Her daughter was born in 1895, the info says she left in 1896 so this could be her. If only I could find an arrival document for her.

Well, the Maria Wilhelmina you asked for in reply #3 is your Maria. She was not an easy person to follow in the books.
She was born illegitimate with no record of a father. Her father was then recorded by the minister when she moved out in 1861 as Mads Andersson through a "lägersmål" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leierm%C3%A5l and the father being named 25 Nov 1860.

.....and in the Household Examination from 1865 as Maria Wilhelmina Madsdotter.
Also the name Häggman comes from Maria Jonasdotter's brother Jonas Jonasson Häggman from the Household Examination from 1854.
Then in the Moving Out record from 1865 she is recorded as Maria Wilhelmina Madsen Söderström. I have no idea where the Söderström name came from though.

Oh Wow Ian that is incredible.
Strange thing is, I was in contact with the relative that is also researching Maria yesterday and she found the info about Maria been illegitimate. She ask me what I though, if this could be the Maria we are looking for.
Now with what you have found, I think she is the one.
So thank -you for your help. The relative is going to be so happy with what you have found.
As you say where does the Soderstrom come in. On her marriage record it has her father as Matts Soderstrom. How true this is, is another question.

Thanks
Karen

You're welcome
She wrote that her father was Matts Söderström which in her eyes is correct. Her father was Mads Andersson. So Mads became Matts and as she called herself Söderström he became Söderström too. She probably didn't remember Andersson.

Here is Ernst Evert's mother and father from 1865 in Helsinki:
Anders was a seaman at this time.
