Searching for death/burial James Weston b1865 Eastbourne

Can anyone help me find what happened to my Great Grandfather James Weston.
I have his whole life story up until his army service record which ended 21 Apr 1917. I assume he died sometime between that date and the 1921 census because he is not listed on it. He did spend a good deal of his life in London but his last known address was in Eastbourne. If anyone is a member of the Sussex Family History Group, perhaps you may have access to some records I cannot find.

Can you direct me to his army record?   I find it hard to believe he served in the Army in WW1 as he'd have been 49 at the start of the war.

Have you got his school record in Eastbourne?
Eastbourne National Boys' School (St Mary's)
James Weston born 4.6.65
Father Henry, Beachy Head.
Admitted 9.3.1875, along with brother Joseph (born 4.11.62)
Both left 12 Oct 1875, so not there very long!

Jon, no I didn't have this info so thank you for that. I have now added it to James profile. I will get to Joseph later. Thanks again.
