What does D.S.O. R.A. stand for? **** COMPLETED ****
« on: Friday 28 January 22 18:55 GMT (UK) »
I'm recording a graveyard, and I have a headstone for a man called JONES ... DSORA.
Does this mean that he got a D.S.O. ? (and what does R.A. stand for?)
Or is D.S.O.R.A. something different.

I don't need to know any  genealogical background for him - just what the letters mean, please.
(It's only curiosity, really !!

If it is spaced as you have it I would say he did receive the DSO and he served with the Royal Artillery.

Great, thanks, Crumblie!

I'm only at the pre-recording stage of this section of the graveyard, so I haven't jotted down  a great deal, nor taken a photo yet.
