Hills Family Sandon

I am researching my partner's family who I have found lived for many generations in Sandon.  So far I have got the direct line back to:
George Hills 1820-1898 married Mary Skipp
John Hills 1773-1847 married Amy Wood
John Hills 1739-1772 married Martha Needham
I have found a record for the parents of John 1739 marrrying in Sandon in Oct 1737, namely John Hill(s) and Mary Scott.  Mary was baptised in Sandon in 1700, but I can find no record of John's baptism there.  There were 2 John Hills born 1691 and 1695 respectively in Aspenden.  Would it be possible that one of these 2 men could be the father?  It does seem that families lived in the same area and not move around.  Any advice, suggestions or information which would confirm John's (1739) father would be very much appreciated.  Many thanks.
