Mary Carr Family fishing photos

Wonder if anyone could assist me with restoration of these two photos of my family, would have been taken in the early 1920's in Australia.

janjim,  I used GIMP to try to improve the first photo of the lady and the program reported there was Colour Information in the photo.  (RGB, Red Green Blue ).  I turned the Saturation to Maximum and it coloured up a little, mostly the wooden wall.  However, I tried to Lighten the top half of her face but no details were apparent.
If you can Scan just the HEAD at your Highest Resolution and Save it as a .png file and post it here we might just be able to shine some light on her upper face, cheers, Ian
