Catholic baptisms from barracks at Hythe 1814
« on: Wednesday 02 February 22 16:55 GMT (UK) »
I have an ancestor James Murray who was discharged on 24 Jul 1814 at Hythe, Kent from the 11th Royal Regiment of Veterans. He was 53.

I believe his son, Philip, was born in February that year [James was a sergeant so would have been entitled to have his wife with him]. My question is - where would Philip have been baptised? The family were Roman Catholic. Was there a catholic church near any barracks in Hythe?

Thank for any help.
