Could do with some advise where to go next.
Charles Blakeney (surname alters) born 1844 Hawkesbury, mother Sabina Blakeney unmarried when Charles was born, she later in 1850 married Joseph Arthurs and had a large family. Charles in 1851 is living with his Grandparents William and Virgin Blakeney. I n 1863 He may have married Ann Wait, marriage cert below. The problem is the father in the translation is Daniel Blaken, on the original it looks like Davies to me.so I looked on the GPO site for births and there are 2 Charles Blakeney registered in 1844 Chipping Sodbury the first one the mother's surname was Woodman, wandered if this was the Charles who married Ann Wait but no, looked on the FreeBMD site and there is a marriage in 1839 Chipping Sodbury between a James Blakeney and Maria Woodman, looked on the 1851 census on ancestry and yes they have a son called Charles b 1844 plus a few other children. In 1866 he marries Emma Manning.
Back to the second Charles his birth is registered in 1845 but birth is Dec 1844 Chipping Sodbury. No surname for Mother.
I am now thinking maybe one of Sabina's siblings adopted Charles and married a Blakeney or Davies, the only sisters that are possible is Jane Blakeney born 1829 and Ann Maria Blakeney b 1837. As yet cannot find a marriage for either but will continue to search.
