This is a request to user essexdavid: I saw your post in the “offers” board.

Would be grateful if you could look up Robert Large Baker (my great great grandfather) who was working in Aston, Birmingham at this time.

In case the OP hasn't seen this 1885 obit, which also lists his qualifications:

Occupation: General surgeon

Titles/Qualifications:
MRCS March 26th 1841
FRCS May 9th 1861
LSA 1841
MD St Andrews 1866

Details:
A native of Essex. Educated at St Bartholomew’s Hospital; acted as House Surgeon at the Essex and Colchester Hospital, and afterwards practised at 113 High Street, Bordesley, Birmingham, becoming a Director of the Birmingham Medical Benevolent Society. He retired to Leamington in 1870, and was an active member of the Warneford Hospital Committee and a member of the Jephson Gardens Committee, where his knowledge of botany was of much service.
He died at Barham House, Leamington, on May 21st, 1885.

The British Medical Journal (BMJ) has a similar obit for him in the 30 May 1885 edition (page 1132).
It can be found online via a Google search.

Thank you. I had seen the RCS obit, but not the BMJ one.
