Census records living in Barns

Hi All
Came across census records for Both of my GG Grans brothers their Surname was Mason they married my Clarkes who were Romany im not sure if Mason is a Traveller surname ? Whist searching i found both Brothers listed as living in a barn one in Worcs the other Berkshire ive worked out they were both obviously either on hard times or maybe part of a bigger group living in the barns maybe other Traveller families or just on their own ? Has anyone else come across this on their searches of their Traveller ancestry also is there anyway of finding out if their were others in the barns recorded on a census? Any help is much appreciated Dunc
