Printing trees from Findmypast?

I have 10 generations which I would like to share with my grandson.  Is there a way of doing this from Findmypast - preferably sticking to just the direct ancestors with his surname?  I realise I would probably have to spread it over several sheets of paper but at the moment can only print a few generations at a time.

I used to do this on MyHeritage but can`t access my old account at the moment as I have changed my email address

I haven't printed from FindmyPast, but if you are familiar with MyHeritage, perhaps you can export a gedcom file from Findmypast, open a free (temporary) Myheritage account, import the gedcom and print from there.

There’s a FindmyPast help page on printing which recommends the gedcom route.

Thanks very much.  After a few emails I have managed to persuade MyHeritage to re-instate my old account using my new email address.  Sadly most of the information that I thought was on there has vanished but I have input the details that my grandson might be interested in - and after a few false starts have now printed off a tree  - with a lot of wasted paper!  Like most things, it doesn`t seem to be as simple as I remember -but that might just be me being older!

Thanks to Jane, and from curiosity, I decided to give Gedcom a try.   

I’ve had Ancestry for over 10 years and I’m more than satisfied.  However, I’d like to give a copy of the tree to someone…, so, I followed the Ancestry instructions.  Bottom left hand corner, a download arrived.  However, when opening it, it looks like total Double-Dutch. (I used Microsoft Word to open it)

Is my annexed image as it should be ?  Is that what you all see ?

A gedcom file is pretty much a text file - the example you have shows this and unless you use a program which will interpret the results and display them in the form we are used to that is all you will get.

There are several free or trial programs which will do this for you

That snippet above presents a file of 1740 pages.  Totally ridiculous as it stands.
I have heard about programs bought online that can hold complete trees plus data.  Any advice concerning brand-names would be appreciated.

There are probably as many differing opinions about which program is the best as there are different programs.

Rootsmagic is one https://www.rootsmagic.com/   - there are commercial versions and a free version.
