Plymouth brethren

Does anyone know where to find birth marriage and death details for Plymouth Brethren in the 1800s?
Were seperate records kept to the Church of England parish registers?
I currently have access to ancestry.co only

When in the 1800's?

The National Archives holds some records. There were very few marriage registers amongst these collections since between 1754 and 1837 only Church of England marriages had been legal.

Subsequent marriages had to be attended by a Registrar.
These should be found in the usual places (e.g. FreeBMD).
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

There was a marriage in 1863 in Plymouth, which I found on the findmypast index. I cannot find the birth details for the husband who I think was PB and had a very common name, so hard to pin down a date of birth, which is why I wonder if there were separate records kept, it might help find him. The wife is on the 1841-61 Devon censuses, as the surname was less common. They appear to have immigrated to NZ shortly after the marriage.

If you obtain the marriage certificate it should detail both of their respective fathers and their occupations. Can you post some more details in case we are able to help?

I think you will definitely need to obtain their marriage certificate - as you say, too many men of a similar name and age. The cert should also give an indication of where he was living when he married and his age as well as his father's name and occupation. You can order via https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/login.asp

I cant see anything that links the Hodders to the Brethrens.

Some of John/Anns children were bapt Ugborough, Religion Anglican.

Ann Hodder was buried as a Anglican also 16 May 1861

Trish :)

Do you have Williams Death Cert?
Does it contain any info on his Parents?

1880/4512 Ford   William 50Y

I see he was a Boot Manufacturer on his Sons Aust M/C

I've looked as I am sure you have also at 1861 Census in Devon for him with a similar occp/dob with no success.
