Post 1858 English wills website seems to be down
« on: Monday 07 February 22 02:17 GMT (UK) »
The website to order post 1858 England and Wales wills has been down for over a week for "Essential Maintenance".   Last week there was a notice that it would be back up on 4 Feb 2022, but now it just has the essential maintenance notice.  Does anyone know what the problem is, and a possible resolution time-frame?

It was up for a while but has gone down again.  They have revamped it, not for the better and obviously have problems with it

Thanks rosie99. The old site seemed to me to be perfectly serviceable and fit for purpose. What a pity they did not leave well enough alone.

I think we would all agree with that.  There is a discussion here

I've just put two wills in my basket, but the password I entered was rejected.  I had a message saying a message had been e-mailed to me to reset the password, but it hasn't arrived.  I don't think it's been treated as spam and I've tried it twice.

It says, "After you have reset your password, come back here and continue."

But I can't.

I've also had a message:

"There is a problem

The email address ... has an outstanding password reset request"

Any views on how long I should keep the window open?

The e-mail came through and I've ordered.

I've had the message:

"Order complete
Your payment was successful. Your order has been accepted."

But that's all I've had so far by way of confirmation.

It was up and running on Friday for a few hours but was very slow and wouldn't accept passwords. The document pages were also not in order. They asked for feedback and I suspect so many people gave it that it crashed again.

Well it is back at the moment and I have eventually managed to set a new password! If they haven't transferred the old passwords why can't they say so?
The search appears to work, although I did try with a fairly recent one.

But how to download the ones I ordered just before they disappeared? There is no link to 'My Wills' anymore that I can find. The links in the emails they originally sent just bring up 'page not found'. I tried in Chrome when it wasn't there with Firefox. Nothing. Has anyone else found 'My Wills'?
