There is much information about Arthur Allen on findagrave, including his wife and children. However, I was wondering if an obit might reveal more info about Arthur, such as other relatives and/or parents or emigration or anything. Arthur's death record does not give parents' names. Arthur's son Samuel married into my Johnston family in 1857 - Elizabeth Johnston.
Arthur was reportedly born in Seskinore, Ireland in 1791, married about 1816 in Ireland to Mary Clingen, and died in Ontario May 30, 1876. He would have emigrated between 1840 and 1851.
His son Samuel died Oct 11, 1888. I have to wonder if Samuel had a previous marriage as there is a Margaret Allen on the 1861 census born abt 1852 which would be before Samuel's marriage to Elizabeth but relationship is not stated.
