My profound apologies, Shaun.

I was talking to Jim originally and in all the excitement I missed the change-over.

Thanks very much to you both.
And you're both stars!

Hi, reading your helpful article I think you may advise me.
I am trying to find information on  Arthur Edward Golding, he was a private in the 2nd Battalion of the Notts & Derbyshire regiment. His service number was 2987. I think he may have been killed @ December 1916.
He was possibly my Grandfather.

regards

No he wasn't killed in 1916. He was discharged that year but re-enlisted in the Army Service Corps EMT/53261 in 1919 per the medal rolls.

John Durkin was discharged from the Army on the 5th August 1918 due to his wounds. He was awarded the Silver War Badge (to wear in public to show that he had served), badge number 434204. His entry on the SWB Rolls shows that he has enlisted into the Army on the 23rd September 1915.
