Katharine Clegg Garner born 1880 Homerton

Hi, Katharine (March 1880 - 1897)  (also Catherine) seems to have been illegitimate but does anyone have suggestions on how to find her father?
One assumption is that he was a Mr Clegg - but only speculation. I have not found any Cleggs in or near the family.
Her mother, my gt-grandmother, was Ronella Garner. In the 1881 census Katharine  was her daughter, but in 1891 she had turned into a sister.
We suspect that Ronella had another illegitimate child, Harold Bertram, in 1882.
She had a daughter, Gwendolyn, in 1885 and 3 more children before she married my gt grandfather Robert Smith in 1892, so we are not sure of the fathers of any of them.
