lewisham ARP wardens advice please
« on: Saturday 12 February 22 17:07 GMT (UK) »
Good evening everyone
I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction please.
I found on 1939 list, that my Grandfather was an ARP Dect Squad. I now know that it was the decontamination squad and he lived in Lewisham. Is there any way I can find out which branch/area he was ARP with please. As Id like to see if there is any photos that might have him in.
Thanks in advance
Maz

Not specific to Lewisham as requested but this 33 minute film, made early 1939, shows a decontamination squad "in action" (about 15 mins into film).

Described by Sir John Anderson (of Anderson shelter fame) as the film everyone should see.
