Trying to trace 2nd Cassidy Great-grandparents, parents.
« on: Sunday 20 February 22 15:47 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to trace 2nd great-grandparents, parents and not sure where to look as have limited information to go on.

Her name is Margaret Mullan, born around 1860, most likely Kilrea area County Londonderry. She married William Cassidy on 8th November 1876 in Tamlaght O'Crilly, County Londonderry. On the marriage record her father's name is John Mullan, residence at time of marriage is Killygullib. Mother's name isn't known.

Also kind of stuck on finding more information about William Cassidy's father, who was called Manus Cassidy.
There may be a brother to William called John James Cassidy but not certain.
William was born around 1860 in Kilrea area, the same as Margaret. His father was Manus, and mother was Jane McAlister or McCallister, they were married 21 January 1851 in Tamlaght O'Crilly, County Londonderry. Manus' father is listed as Francis Cassidy and Jane's father is listed as John McCallister but may be spelt wrongly.

Marriage in Tamlaght O'Crilly Parish (Church of Ireland)-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1876/11181/8097130.pdf

His parents (both living at Boveedy) married in same church in 1851-

A Manus Cassidy died 1888 in Coleraine- widow was Jane- could this be William's father?

Possibly Jane's death?

These two could be Manus' parents. They are meant to have had another son named John James, born 13th May 1867, Bovedy, Kilrea, haven't found much else on him yet.

However haven't managed to find much about Margaret Mullan parents, apart from her father's name (John Mullan) which appears on the marriage record which I had found previously. Already know what family she had, as those are all directly related.

I wonder if this Susanna might have been any connection to Margaret (although note that Margaret's was a Church of Ireland marriage whilst the following is a Roman Catholic marriage):

1888 marriage Susanna Mullan to Michael McCann, her address Killygullib, her father John Mullan (deceased)

Michael and Susanna still at Killygullib in 1901, along with a nephew James Mullen

You may already have considered that there is also at Killygullib, in 1901, a Mary Anne Mullen, widow, aged 75 :
