Bodill's of Coleorton.
« on: Sunday 20 February 22 18:11 GMT (UK) »
I have a 3 x grt. grandfather, Thomas Bodill, b. 1761. I did have his place of birth as being Nottingham, but have been unable to confirm this. He did, however, marry in Nottingam to an Ann Merryman in 1785. Looking into the Bodill name, I discover that there were many from Coleorton. I wondered if my Thomas had any connection to these Bodill's. He was a hatter by trade. Shooting in the dark, but would be grateful for any help.

There are two with a similar surname, a bit earlier or later:-

Thomas Bodle on 10 Aug 1758, son of Richard and Hannah

Thomas Bodle on 14 Apr 1765, son of Richard and Mary

Thank you, David. I will investigate. My Thomas had a son Richard, and daughter Mary.
