Yes I have checked family search and ancestry but nothing but confusion. I think either the last name might be spelled differently or his name is like William James or James William.

In the 1900 census for James Lewis wife Mary Jane Jones it says Mary is a widow so he has to be dead before 1900. James son is William Lewis born in 1881. I'm thinking James died in the war around 1916 cause since he was away at war he wouldn't be listed in the census would he?

Mary Jane his wife was born abt 1863

Isabella Lewis looks to be the daughter of Thomas and Maria according to the 1861 census for Whitchurch  (mother and daughter transcribed as Marria and Issabela on Ancestry)

I might not have the right birth reg for Emily

1851 in Doward [Whitchurch].

Thomas Louise    50
Meriah Louise    42
John Louise    15
Mary Ann Louise    13
George Louise    11
Sophyah Louise    9
Daniel Louise    9
Charles Louise    5
Samuel Louise    3
Emila Louise    9 Mo

HO107; 2444; 413; 5;

The children have mother's maiden name Preece (or similar). The 1850 Isabella is born at the right time to be Emily on 1851!
