Interesting to get background on the witnesses.

Hugh and Margarets sons born:
John Nova Scotia
William Portsmouth
Hugh Barbados
The daughter Margaret died in her first year in Wanelltyd 1854.

Would be great to find Margaret Crawford parents and what her background was.

Many thanks, I had not included details from the 1911 census.

Apologies, reopening my original thread

A relative has now informed me that

Marriage
03 Apr 1847 • Saint Michael, Barbados, Caribbean
Between Hugh Barrow and Margaret Crawford
(1828–1855)

Margaret was apparently the Colonels daughter. Is there any way of finding his details?
He is not mentioned on the record of marriage.

the church record for the marriage on FamilySearch that I gave you earlier is all you can get on the marriage as it is before the date for civil registration of marriages on Barbados. It is not in the Army marriages index.

I haven't found a Colonel Crawford in the 7th Regt of Foot as yet.

I used the Royal Welsh Fusiliers Museum records request a couple of years ago.   Had a great response although I was looking for a 20th century record.   They were extremely helpful

I would give them a ring first if you can and see if its worth it.
