Possible Traveler Names
« on: Monday 28 February 22 17:01 GMT (UK) »
Hello,  I have family tree names Wood, Haslewood, Hedges, and, in Ireland, Mackey and Bland.
My g g grandfather , Michal Mackey, had dark hair and eyes.
Could those be Romany or Traveler names?
Thanks.

My great grandfather was a traveler, all over the country of Britain. He was always in trouble with the police as he was a street beggar with either his barrel organ, tambourine or some other musical instrument. Joseph Lostich/Lostitch. Its says in the gypsy law society that he was part of the Roumanian Rudari Gypsy clan. I remember as a child my great grandfather in his culture was to have a feast, I didn't understand why people would sit on the floor like a picnic and eat
No books have been written like the other clans have, only in the gypsy lore society and a few newspaper clippings of him being told to move on with fines for begging too, any help or information please get in touch
