I have had a look for John on later census returns but I have run out of time. There is some evidence that he married and maybe moved to Clitheroe. It might be worth a closer look at the two below, I know the age for Richard is not quite right but the only information of 1807 is from the 1841 census, not the most accurate on occasions.

Deaths Sep 1869
Leeming    Richard    71    Clitheroe    8e   163

Deaths Jun 1902
Leeming    John    74    Clitheroe    8e   209

I think this is more likely to be this family in 1841 at Gray stone gill, Bentham:
John LEEMING    70   farmer
Margaret              60
John                     10
Thomas JOHNSON  15  servant

I agree that is probably the Graystonegill family, and the missing father would be Thomas Leeming b. 7 January 1804, bapt. 2 February. FamilySearch has his death c. June 1892 - so he must have left the scene for some reason after Margaret's birth c1835.
Anyway, the son/grandson John is probably not the one resident at Green Smithy in 1841.

Thanks.
