Cookham Burial and Marriage Place Search Request
« on: Thursday 03 March 22 06:25 GMT (UK) »
Hello all

Please could Anyone help me locate where my Ancestors....

William Alfred Smith and
Rosina Paul  - were married (what church, place) and where they are now buried.

Wedding was in the first quarter of 1904  the Marriage Register Index says Maidenhead District - both living in Cookham at the time so could be a Cookham Church...or a Maidenhead Church as an alternative..

Death of William Alfred 1917 -  Death registered in Maidenhead - again living in Cookham at the time
Death of Rosina 1944 - Death registered in Maidenhead - again living in Cookham at the time.

So either buried at a Cookham Church or Maidenhead Church.

I tried to find them and even purchased two Berkshire Family History - Cookham Church Burial Record downloads - but not many records listed and nothing came up there -

Ive also purchased the Marriage Certificate from the GRO - sadly however this seems to have got lost - as was sent over 2 months ago.

Any help most appreciated.

Thankyou
Jim

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

There appears to be a parish cemetery in Cookham - with the registers being kept at the Clerk and Registrar of the Parish Council.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thankyou Rosie99 narrowed it down for me.
Can you say which Church they married in ?
I believe the two main churches in Cookham are St John the Baptist and Holy Trinity

Thankyou for all the welcomes !  and thanks for your suggestion BumbleB - I have now emailed the parish council to see if they can help.!   Unfortunately I have no way of attending in person to view records so that could be a sticking point.

Fantastic Rosie99 Thankyou ! -  This is a huge step forward as I think I could expect the same church for their Burial Location.
Can you say where you found the transcript for reference..would like to cite a source if I possibly can.

Many Thanks!
