John (Seán) Purtell

Hi I'm new here and I'm trying to find any information about my great-grandfather John (Seán) Purtell, He was Raised In Newcomen Court Just off the North Strand in Dublin His Father's Name Was Michael Purtell and His Mother's name was Jeannette Grimes. He Fought in the War Of Independence in F Coy 2nd Battalion Old I.R.A, But after the War he got a Job as a Printer Like His Father and Worked in Different Company's Throughout his Life But one I know for Certain is that he worked for Guinness in the Printing Department from 1955 to 1957. I have already gotten his Record from his time there but hopefully if anyone has any information or anywhere that will help me find out more about his life during the War Of Independence and even just his Regular Life

I was at a meeting last evening when we were discussing these archives but I confess I always have difficulty searching them. Others seemed to have great success!

OP, you may have these but for others reading, the first marriages of some of the younger siblings of John Purtell-

Thomas Patrick Purtell married Eileen Furlong on 21st September 1940.

Frances Purtell married James M Colligan on 8th September 1942.

This might be Margaret Purtell's marriage to Philip Murphy in 1934. She's living at Newcomen Court.
(The priest appears to have made an incorrect entry for Margaret's father as Bridget Murphy.)

Thank you I have tried them before they said that during that time they didn't keep those records for some reason
