Do any of the 3 children's birth certificate indicate what William's occupation is/was.

Oh yes. I hadn’t thought about the Hughes name for marriage. I think I’m going to have to wait for the marriage certificate between william and Kathleen and go from there. I know those two are right. By all accounts William had a girl in every port/pub … which is probably why I can’t find him with Kathleen at the censuses 🤦🏻‍♀️
William remarries after Kathleen’s death (1926) to a Daisy L Barr in 1928 Lymington. No children there.

Hi John. I don’t have those. It would be a good idea, but I’m a bit reluctant to spend more money on a friend’s tree. Hopefully the marriage certificate will have it though. A good idea re: occupation, as it might help me find him on census.

For the back burner,

1911
Vessels
Piece:   34973

A Henry William Curtis. Cannot find a suitable birth reg under that name in that area. Wondering if he was a naval man?

That is possible. Especially if the Henry Pearce 1881 census is him. My friend says that her dad says he was known as Harry.
