Is there a monument or plaque in rememberance of the men who died?

i believe there is a monument up in llanfabon church near to the A470 roundabout. You think will need to go up the golf club to gain access to Llanfabon church.

If you have an interest in the South Wales coal field and their disasters this is the book for you it not only gives you a short history of the mine what accidents happen the outcome of thoes disaters  but gives names  of the miners who perished.
It brings history alive you will also shed a few tears.
