Elizabeth Hubbard bapt 14 Oct 1825, Bawdsey- parents= George Hubbard and Elizabeth .

Maybe the mother's name has been mis- transcribed?

Excellent.  Yes, perhaps a wrong transcription.

I have just looked at the 1851 census again and noted that this is the right family as Elisabeth had a son who is living with grandfather George Hubbard aged 2 yrs.  This is the son of Elisabeth.  Wow...great.

Thanks to everyone.  This is potentially very exciting as I think I have found Elisabeth's death in 1879.  I have ordered the death certificate.  She is of course indexed under her married name.

It looks like Aaron at least was possibly illegitimate as he is indexed under two surnames in the old indexes.  I can't see him at all on the GRO indexes.

Births Sep 1838

DUNN, Aaron
HUBBARD, Aaron
Woodbridge    12   438

Debra  :)

I think that coincidentally Aaron son of George and Lucy was registered at the same time as Aaron son of Robert DUNN and Hannah FLOWER, so it is in fact two different children.

It looks like the GRO have missed all entries for that volume and page number.

That seems more likely then.  Any thoughts on Elisabeth and why her mother shows as 'Elisabeth' ?
