1841 & 1851 Lookup Please -John LANG

I would be grateful if someone could look for a John F  Lang in 1841 and 1851 please.

Born abt 1839 in Cullompton, Devon. His father's name might be Robert but do not know his mothers name.

Thankyou for the info on Lang family.

It looks like Susan could be the Grandmother of the children in 1851 census as she is 60 yrs old,unless her age is wrong. Maybe Roberts mother?

Roberts wife Susan is only  30 yrs old in 1841 census so it looks like i will have to look for Robert and his wife elsewhere.

Can anyone find them in the 1851 census please.

You need to read the info we post more carefully.

In the 1851 Susan is listed as a widow, therefore Robert is dead and cannot be found on the 1851. 

IMO this Susan in the 1851 is Roberts wife because all other info about her is consistant between 1841 & 1851.

There is one death of a Robert Lang in March 1851 that you will probably need to get the death certificate for to check if it its the right one.

as far as I know Cullompton is in the Tiverton district. If thats not right, you'll need to check freeBMD to find the right one.


You're probably also going to find that the age 60 (on the 1851 census)  is a mis-transcription and that it really should be 40. 

Transcriptions errors are common.  Transcribers are not perfect however much we'd like them to be.
