You will have noticed Mary was about 7yrs older than him so could have been married previously.  Her maiden name on the birth of a child to the second marriage would be her true birth surname but she would probably have married under her previous married name- always supposing she was previously married??

Just found his baptism, it came up as Waud, parents are William and Mary, Eastrington.

Johnhood I had just been looking at this one for the second time. I wouldn't be surprised if its the right one because George was just George Ward, then all of a sudden Wilson got added into the mix, thankyou very much.
