I decided to see if I could find anything from the names of the other casualties in the newspaper report.
After checking the first 25 or so I manage to find some that had service record or pension records and they were all recorded as injured on the 14 Sept 1914 (and Pont Arcy was mentioned on 1 or 2)
Cross referencing with the diaries the 2nd battalion were at Pont Arcy ( Battle of Aisne) on 14th Sept 1914. they were heavily shelled from 6 am till 7pm and took heavy casualies.
Thanks to all for the help that got me here!!
