William Goodsell was 22 years old when he was executed in 1834
He left a long letter which mentions:
His Father and Mother (no names)
John and his wife [assume Goodsell]
Lewiza and Frederick [his siblings?]
Sister Anne
Uncle James and his wife
Uncle Cook and his wife

ref Sussex Advertiser 6 January 1834 - page 3 of 4

These names might help to eliminate at least one of the many William Goodsell's born abt 1812

Is it possible that the letter this guy wrote just before he died (to his FATHER AND MOTHER and siblings?) could suggest that he wasn't the illegitimate son of Ann.

ie William Goodsell, convict to Tasmania, could still be son of Ann Goodsell.
 - He was tried 19 March 1838 - age 27 (1 year in prison)
 - He was tried 19 May 1847 - age 37 (transportation for 10 years)

I think we're happy with the (sadly) executed William not being the illegitimate son of Ann ;)
