I think Annie makes a good point. Gadget and I both felt something wasn't right with the dates for it to be Emily.
WolfeEye...Do you own both photos and if so, is there anything on the backs?

Both photos are on the various trees that I've found.  The first one is consistently labelled as Emily's brothers with their wives but that is probably because of the domino effect with trees and photos!

@ Carol.  No, sadly I don't own either of these photos, I found them both on Ancestry. I do, however, possess a photo of Emily's daughter, Agnes, and there's a strong resemblance between mother and daughter (at least in my opinion).

@Gadget. Wow! That restoration looks marvelous.  Thank you very much for that!

WolfeEye,

I'm doing Orkney research myself at the moment (a 60th birthday present for a friend) but I also have Orkney connections (surname Work) in my own tree although not direct line.

A couple of weeks ago I found a link here on RC, posted by one of our members (Skoosh), a wee documentary from 1980 featuring 2 descendants of Orcadian/Cree Indian from James Bay & thought you might enjoy it too...

https://www.nfb.ca/film/fiddlers_of_james_bay/

Add...I believe both photos are of the same couple, whoever they are.
