You're right BumbleB, a warm room is required for Pilates and normally it is, no idea what was going on today. I came home and put the central heating on, curled up on the sofa with a throw over me and a cup of tea in hand,  soon warmed up.

Your poor friend Caroline, she's certainly been through the mill, I hope she can get some progress with the consultant.
I can almost hear you screaming about your daughter, some people can be infuriating without even realising they're doing it! I'm sure you let her down gently. Hope the sofa covers look good,  you'll have a good long day to enjoy them.  ;D

Yes,I have not seen number two son for three years ,he has friend from Uni days and is Godfather to the two children ,very conscientious .
So he plans to call at B/ham and come up here,BUT ,did not realise it was Easter ,well hates heavy traffic ,will arrive all stressed out ,takes two days to recover a bit then will go back ,is never hungry after a journey ,and will be quite impatient !
I really feel like saying “ don’t bother coming past Birmingham ,just turn back
and go home from there!”
He has worked at home for two years and  it must have been a hard time , like for millions of others!
But it is a strain ,I feel uncomfortable needing to eat for tablets to be taken etc.
I have been alone too long I think ,many feel the same ,
Oh I wish they were all small again,at home , but then Flash Harry and baby Kyra would not be here .

Very windy and torrential  rain
today ,Tesco delivery early tomorrow , fresh food shop on Saturday ,if I can stand the
excitement.!

Hope all are well or at least improving , my friend’s grand daughter 15 ,has Covid for the second time!
Last time a few months ago.
Has a compromised immune system due to nasal/ mouth cancer treatment in USA when quite young.
Plays a brass instrument in a fairly local Prize Band.

Well ,I need a cup of tea, thirsty ,and last tablets to take .
Goodnight ,hope all sleep well.
Viktoria.

Louisamaud, there was an article in Ideal Home last month about electricity costs of tumble dryers. Varies by type.
I have a washer-dryer but have seldom used the dryer. Also own an electric airer, never used.
Sun & cold, strong wind yesterday & today.

I am  getting   rid  of  the drier soon I  hope, since the dial got stuck and I  forgot the washing it it  was  going round and round for  such a  long time at whatever heat setting it was on, I was  lucky to be  honest, my  luck  was in that day, so for  my own peace  of  mind it  has to go,  also  hope to replace my 2  year old washing machine  for  something that's   more economical, 40  degree wash is 1hr 50  mins, a rince 55 mins, ridiculous, and  now that  my  bill  has  increased  by £150 per month it is  not economical ,  so that will  have to go soon

Thank  you  for the reminder MS

I select the shortest spin appropriate for the material and weather. I've never used maximum (1400) or 2nd speed (1200) spin on my washing machine. Machine & laundry will last longer.

https://www.whitegoodshelp.co.uk/washing-machine-spin-speed-efficiency
Links to related articles. Author tested 3 spin speeds on towels and hung them outside on washing-line afterwards. Difference in drying-time between lowest (800) and highest speed tested was 10 minutes. Solar and wind power for drying laundry outside are free.
Another article is about exploding washing machines.
Lots of other useful advice e.g. colour catchers.

Electricity is cheap here so almost everyone uses driers.  I do hang up about half of the clothing in the laundry room and sometimes in the summer out on the patio on a portable drying rack.  Outdoor clotheslines are rare here.
Over 60’s can get the second booster now but has to be five months since first booster, so it will be May for us.
OH back at curling this week as his pulled muscle healed up.  Next week is the last week for this season.
I tried a British puzzle brand that I hadn’t done before - Gibsons, good quality.  It was a scene of the Liverpool docks, made me think of my parents leaving there to come here, not at the same time, my father’s family came, went back, and returned once more.  He probably returned from there after WWII as well.  My mother came as a war bride later, in 1946, the soldiers and brides with children had priority, they had married in 1945 so spent some months apart.

I have another one I bought at the same time of Matlock, Bath.  They were a bargain price, so I couldn't resist.
Light snow here this morning.
Saw daffodil shoots yesterday at the back of the yard.

Cowslips and honesty flowers opening on schedule. Sunny & blustery again.
2 magpies in the tree in my back garden yesterday. Blackbirds nest most years in the garden. Magpies are probably spying so they can raid the nest.
