Jackson's Rainproof Manufacturers, Chapel Street, Ancoats, Manchester
« on: Monday 04 April 22 17:35 BST (UK) »
Hi Rootschatters

My mother and her two sisters, who emigrated with their families from Dublin to Manchester in the 1950s, all worked as sewing machinists for Jackson's raincoat manufacturers at 72 Chapel Street, Ancoats, Manchester from the 1950s well into the 1960s.

All the ladies (my Mum Maureen and her sisters Sheila and Kay) have sadly long since passed away, but I'd love to hear any stories about what it was like working at Jackson's, from anyone who might remember, and a reminder of the names of other people who worked there.

I think the factory was owned by a Frank Jackson and his brother?  My Mum and her sisters loved working there and it would be great to hear from anyone who might even remember them.

Any old memories and stories from those days in the factory would be great to hear!

Thank you
