Help trace Liverpool address please pre 1913
« on: Tuesday 05 April 22 10:23 BST (UK) »
I have reviewed over 800 on our Roll of Honour so far all have an Age and Biography
But this one have Stumped me and Boo
No life of him prior to his 1913 Marriage
No idea of Age at Marriage, or who were his Parents and his Siblings and where he lived from Birth
He was recorded Missing in March 20 -30 th 1918 yet Red Cross had him listed
Missing  August 1918 and November 1918
Any titbits all appreciated.

As I have already suggested to you Alan, as you don't seem to know where the info came from on that page and there is no surviving service record, no death notice or In Memoriam in the old newspapers as clues.

The widow's address on the widow's pension form was 3 court, 3 house Laxey St and there is an entry in the 1918 electoral register for a James Doyle of 3 in 5court Laxey St who was a naval or military voter which is 'possible' and if it is him then he would have been born in 1897 at the latest.
Taking a large age range I could see over 60 James Doyles in the 1911 census.

Your only real options would be to either get a copy of the marriage cert to ascertain his age and father's name to work with or to research all the James Doyles in the 1911 census to 'perhaps' find clues to which one 'may' have been him - even then without the checking points of age and father's name you aren't ever going to be sure.

I was going to suggest the marriage certificate sounds like the easiest way forward. As Boo says, nothing in the papers from what I can see. Such a common name.

Just in case anyone does look, I did research one James Doyle who appeared on the 1911 census for Alan so to avoid any wasted effort.
This one was born 1876 and was living in 67 Laxey Street with parents Thomas and Ann, going back through the census years they'd lived in Laxey Street since at least 1881.
However a James Doyle, birth year given as 1877, living in Laxey Street was found on the 1921 census. He died in 1925 age 50, buried at Ford, home address 67 Laxey street so its definitely not him.

Thanks Boo, I did notice the other James DOYLE at 67 Laxey St on electoral rolls. As you say, so many possibilities!

I have ordered the Marriage Certificate as Boo Suggested as the only option to get his Age.
I would not normally ever go to the expense for an Unknown Soldier but I refuse to let just one case beat us.
Boo has spent alot of Hours and Time to do her Best possible variations

Thanks everyone for your Input

Will update you shortly.
