Just for your interest and off-subject…  I knew many MacKinnons when I lived in Campbeltown.  In the meantime, when I joined the Scots Guards Pipe Band, I was friends with Alby MacKinnon, who ended up as Pipe Major. (RIP)
He was buried on Sky.

That is interesting, and a great picture too.

Out of interest, our family names in Campbeltown include McLean, Jordan, Ballantyne/Bannatyne, McConachy, Stewart... many of them with Irish roots. At the moment, I do not know how or if Skye fits in, or how it all relates to MacKinnon. If at all.
