Headstone look up.
« on: Monday 11 April 22 14:48 BST (UK) »
ITs a bit of the thin side, but I have a headstone in St Peter's Church, Belgrave, Leicester. All it says is W.K. 1872. I am thinking if anyone can find a match it is rootschatters!

I was thinking there is probably only one person with those initials that died that year, it was a small area then...... maybe I am dreaming? What do you guys think?

There is no entry for a December burial of William King at St Peter, Belgrave.

There are some trees which have William Kilby as the husband of Elizabeth Tebbs, married in Cossington on 4th June 1827. His death is given as 2nd June 1872 in Belgrave.

A record attached to one tree has "KILBY WIlliam, June 1872, 68 years, and Elizabeth his wife, 29 June 1870, 64 years." Sadly, the tree also has Elizabeth's abode as Leicester Lunatics Asylum, although her burial record in St Peter's has it as Abbey Lane, Belgrave, age 63, on 3rd July.
