Nobody has free access to the Scottish 1911 census, you need to pay to download it at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

What is the ref. no?

Annie

Add...The index lists ages (not year of birth) i.e. it would depend on his date of birth in 1902 as to what age he was on census night
South Uist, Inverness-shire, Scotland:- Bowie, Campbell, Cumming, Currie

Ireland:- Cullen, Flannigan (Derry), Donahoe/Donaghue (variants) (Cork), McCrate (Tipperary), Mellon, Tol(l)and (Donegal & Tyrone)

Newcastle-on-Tyne/Durham (Northumberland):- Harrison, Jude, Kemp, Lunn, Mellon, Robson, Stirling

Kettering, Northampton:- MacKinnon

Canada:- Callaghan, Cumming, MacPhee

Hi Annie,
I’m so sorry I didn’t realise, just copying some notes on “things to look up”.

There’s this with it? 041/3/11

Ahh yes, I believe he was born late May 1902.
Sorry I’ve not done any Scottish research before.

Looking at the free index on ScotlandsPeople, the reference for Graham Ross, aged 8, is 041/3/11.

The others called Ross with this reference are:

Peter, aged 52,
Benjamina, aged 51,
John, aged 56,
Lizzie, aged 26,
Donald, aged 16,
William, aged 10

From a transcript of the 1901 census on another site, the family is then at Sinclair Street, Thurso, and consists of:

Peter, labourer, and wife, Benjamina, with children: Peter (22), John (18), Lizzie (16), Alexander (14), Donald (7), William (under 1).

Looking at the original document will tell you where Graham Ross was born. There was a Graham Ross registered in St Andrews (Edinburgh) in 1902.
