Gmail-BTmail - COMPLETED WITH THANKS
« on: Wednesday 13 April 22 11:34 BST (UK) »
Last night I sent a weblink from my Gmail address to OH's BT email address. He didn't receive it. It wasn't in his inbox, spam or any other folder.

I tried again this morning with the same result. I then used another gmail act. Same result. I then sent him the link via my BT address. It was delivered without any problems.  Note he uses BT webmail.

I then sent a test message from my Gmail address to my BT address. It didn't come through.

There doesn't seem any notice  on the web that there is a problem with BT/gmail

Has anyone else had this problem or is it just us??

On the BT forums where this has happened the users found that the gmail domain had been blocked after they had marked a previous incoming mail item as spam/junk. Adding the sender or even gmail to the safe senders list appears to cure the problem.

Thanks - but it's multiple addresses both ways. It seems to be blocking all gmail addresses that I've used, even ones that I've not used!

Sorry - I missed the whole gmail domain!

I'll try that.

As one of the messages said, all of @gmail  was blocked on both of our BT accounts.  I'm not sure how this happened. I've now sorted it.

Thanks for the link.

I had similar issue.  I realised that I was receiving NO emails from any Gmail accounts to my BTinternet address.   They were NOT in the BT Email Spam folder eiither.
I found that Gmail.com was in my BTinternet Spam rules as a blocked address.   Not only were the mails being blocked, they were not going to Spam either - they simply did not appear.  I removed the Gmail.com entry from the Spam blacklist and problem fixed.

I don't know of this is a BTinternet bug or fature, and I don't know how Gmail.com was added to my blacklist.

I had/have similar problems with hotmail.
I am in a couple of groups where we circulate information and I went through similar difficulties.
Eventually, I tried putting the addresses as ‘safe’ and they were fine.
I haven’t used that for years due to increased levels of security for junk and spam. I had  forgotten how to do it!
