This lass is just a side-note to the main family, but I'm curious as to her beginnings.

The first I see her is as a sister-in-law to Joseph Clift,
together with Bessey Lilicrap (infant. no mmn on birth reg)
first wife Elizabeth Langman (m 1836?) , 2nd Wife Mary Ann Gould (m 1849-ish)

RG09/  1522/ Folio 15/ Page 24/ Schedule 149
https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=GBC/1861/0008554387&expand=true

Then in 1871:
 RG10 / 2224; Folio: 107; Page: 15; Schedule: 69
http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBC/1871/0005323000

in 1881: Bessey is awol at present, but Sarah (now wife of Thomas Uglow) is M-in-Law:
RG11; Piece number: 2276; Folio: 102; Page: 13; Schedule: 626
http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBC/1881/0010304363

in 1891:
RG12; 1746; Folio: 112; Page: 23; Schedule: 200  (Bessey)
http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBC/1891/0012401913

Sarah Uglow @ http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBC/1891/0012643237

1901:

RG12; Piece number: 1803; Folio: 87; Page: 2; Schedule: 10 (Sarah Lillicrap, now Uglow)
http://search.findmypast.co.uk/record?id=GBC/1891/0012643237

So She's reasonably consistent on age & birthplace, just haven't been able to work out if 1861 relationship is a red herring or not...

Anyone up for a looksee?

Pauline

It says she is a widow as Lilicrap doesn't it  :-\

There is a Sarah Gould in 1841/1851 - might that be her.  Sister to Mary Ann Gould?

I wasn't feeling it for Sarah Gould, not without something to back it up.
It's a fairly common surname in/about the area.
The marriage cert  in the 1870s to Thos Uglow might be enlightening, but I'm not up for buying it.

I've found an FindMyPast tree with her on it, sent a message, so I'll see what if anything comes back on it.

She's looking a lot like it, isn't she?
Third time lucky in the marriage department.

No, I hadn't heard back from the FindMyPast tree owner.
The site doesn't tell you when the owner last logged in or anything else.

I'll update the tree when I get a chance with this fresh information.

Thanks, Pauline

I have this thrice married lady in my tree. The 1876 marriage at St Stephens by Launceston to Thomas UGLOW gives her status as widow and her surname LILLECRAP; father's name John GOULD, farmer. There is a baptism for a Sarah GOULD at Egg Buckland in 1830, parents John & Sarah. I couldn't locate one for Mary Ann. However, the children born to Joseph CLIFT show MMN as GOULD.
Mary Ann GOULD married Joseph CLIFT St Germans district 1850.

So Mary Ann Gould (1820-1910) is my 2nd great grandmother.

Are you a blood relative of Sarah Gould (barons/ lillicrap/ Uglow) ?

I'm a blood relative of Thomas Head LILLICRAP. However, although he married Sarah BARONS formerly GOULD later UGLOW, the child known as Bessie Sarah LILLICRAP cannot be Thomas Head LILLICRAP's as he died 17 Jun 1857 and Bessie Sarah's birth was 30 Jan 1861 and the baptism also states only the mother's name, no father.  Sarah GOULD's Father was John GOULD who married Sarah GLANVILLE in Egg Buckland in 1825.
