Limerick mount St Lawrence burial records
« on: Monday 18 April 22 16:10 BST (UK) »
Hello

There used to be a searchable  by name register for Mount st Lawrence cemetery in the Limerick city archives but the link on Limerick.ie appears to be broken- dns error.

This isn't the one with the photos as per the collaboration with Mary I college. It's the one with names and plot numbers. Anybody have any information or has the resource gone for good. Many thanks

Hi Sarah

That's exactly the one I used years ago. The link works, however as a trial run  can't search for names of persons   I  definitely know  are  buried at this cemetery ( was there at Christmas), or indeed any names at all.

Perhaps I need to contact the archives manager?

Thankyou for posting the information  though!

Regards

Hello, The link posted sends one to the index but the index search tool clearly is not reliable. After trying to search for my relatives, I entered a known name, surname, burial year and address taken from the register, and the search showed nothing. Did you contact the administrator? Any advice on how to proceed? Thanks!

The link on Limerick Life site doesn't work either but there is a link to some transcripts if the years suit
https://limerickslife.com/mount-st-lawrence-cemetery/
There are other links and information on the site that may be of use for researching in Limerick

Hello

Sorry I forgot to come back and provide an update for  my query. The archives manager at Limerick County Council had told me that, unfortunately a few website links throughout the Council were interrupted before Xmas and the Mount St Lawrence databases were ones that were  affected.

The digital/ICT departments are trying to fix this  problem but don't have any timescale as to when it will be rectified.

As soon as it is available again they will update their media pages.  I will post back here on this thread if I come across any updates.

The actual  handwritten burial register books in PDF are still available to view, but be aware that they take a long time to download and that there is no easy way to search for a relative, you would have to have an idea of  burial year as a number of years are covered on each download.

Hope this helps.

The 'Transcribed Burial Register Database for Mount Saint Lawrence Cemetry' has been re-launched at: https://msl-burial-database.limerick.ie
