The son can confirm where death occurred but not where buried, probate gave a reasonable sum to the widow so should not have been a shortage of pennies,

The widow applied to administrate the estate, she may not have had all of the money. (£455 1s 8d)

Pedantic that is a good word for the week, also known as ‘Tunge Abertawe’ and ‘Berdenestaple’ but that is the Saxon’s for you and the Ancient Britons…

Presumably the burial took place prior to Daisy receiving the £455 1s 8d

"£455 in 1960 is equivalent in purchasing power to about £11,165.33 today"

Where was Daisy buried, have you checked she's not with her husband?

Is it possible the Masons did pay for his return to London?

I can't help wondering why the son didn't attend the funeral or even know where it took place.

Daisy was cremated in London, regarding the son it does seem strange but that can happen in families, what may seem stranger is that he and his present wife would also like to know where he was buried…. although the younger daughter was in New York the eldest Doreen was living in London so maybe she was involved with the funeral either way cannot ask her as she is interred in LA so perhaps we will never know..

I visited St Ann's at Saunton today. There are no discernible headstones there, just one plaque on an outside wall and a small 'garden of remembrance'. I suspect it was not licensed for burials being a chapelry of Braunton parish church,

Daisy was cremated in London,

Have you enquired whether Harry was cremated in London?

Harry did not return to London, youngest daughter who was in New York when he died confirmed in a letter that he was buried in Devon but she did not know where, thanks for visiting St Anne’s that is one of the list, as far as I can see there are 2 cemeteries in Braunton apart from that of the Parish Church so will try and locate there records, have sent e mails to address’s on there web site but no response as yet, it looks as though Christ Church Braunton and the Pentecostal Church have combined
