Help Identify Army Uniforms please WW1
« on: Saturday 23 April 22 16:28 BST (UK) »
These Four appear to be having some Fun for the Photo opportunity by Swapping Head Caps.

Possibly French or North African Allies or Possibly Turkish POW's ?

Any idea of Uniforms and their Nationality?

Yes, as far as I can see the cap badges look like The King’s Liverpool Regt.
The horse looks like “ The White Horse of Hanover”,however some time ago a similar query proved there was  a Sussex Regt I seem to remember .,with a very similar badge.

Best of luck with your search.

The West Kents had a white horse badge, but theirs may be a bit more upright than this one.

Thanks everyone for your Time and Input
My Opinion definitely not West Kents as White Horse rearing higher up and four Mottos below.

This is clearly The King's Liverpool

Uniforms and Nationality definitely a mystery

Yes, just looking at my Dad’s blazer badge in a folder my grandson did for a school project ,it is the same as the photo you have just posted .
However ,it ,to me me looks the same as those in the photo with the men in swapped headwear.
I wish I knew how to post photos .

Thought you'd be interested to know I've been advised that Postcard showing that photo of the 4 Soldiers Swapping Head gear was described as Turkish Soldiers in King's Regt were sold at Auction for £127.51

I'm pretty sure they are not Turkish prisoners.

1. The uniforms are too thick and too smart
2. The Kings soldiers' uniforms are wrong for Mesopotamia
3. The writing on the African soldier's armband doesn't look like Turkish
4. The warrant officer's moustache looks European

Agreed ShaunJ
I thought that also and it was likely to be French Allies and Colonies (North African perhaps?)
