Samuel Bissell (Bissel) circa 1730
« on: Monday 25 April 22 07:05 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find a baptism for him.
It is thought that he MAY have been born in the Kingswinford Area Staffordshire.
He married Mary Rollinson 29 Oct 1756 @ St. Mary's, Kingswinford. https://www.findmypast.co.uk/transcript?id=R_854027634
Any assistance would be appreciated

FreeReg

Samuel Bissel baptized 8 June 1755 Kingswinford Staffordshire -ADULT BAPTISM
father Benjamin.

Theory possibly getting baptized in church prior to marrying Mary in 1756

They married by License, check if it still survives, it may give more clues.

He did name a son Benjamin.

From FreeReg children

Ann bap 23 July 1757 poss. burial 24 July 1757
Frances  bap 7 October 1759
Benjamin  bap 10 January 1762  burial 30 May 1768 age 6
Sarah  bap 17 March 1765
John  bap 1 march 1778

There is also a burial of Benjamin Bissell 31 May 1761 no age given could be another son born between Sarah and Benjamin who died soon after birth.
-------------
Could this be a brother of Samuel-

Benjamin Bissell buried 20 July 1771 age 33  so birth circa 1737/38
-------------

Another question could they have moved somewhere nearby between Sarah 1765 and John 1778
It's quite a long gap.

Last thing It's getting late here.

The Benjamin Bissell who died 1771 left a will. He was of Kingswinford.

Listed under Index of Wills -Diocese Of Lichfield and Coventry.

So did Samuel who died 1797 age 61.

I love wills the longer the better so much information.
