Looking at the 1841 for Elizabeth I think she was married to John Kitching who died March qtr 1846.  For some reason GRO online is not recognising the entry so I can’t check his age

You need the 1846 marriage cert to get her maiden name from her fathers name on the cert

He obviously liked the name Elizabeth - 1841 shows the same name for his wife.  Are you sure you have the right marriage in 1846 as there is no death for another Elizabeth between 1842 - 1846

1841 - both George & Elizabeth are 35 (ages rounded down in 1841)
1851 - he is 47 she is 49
1861 - he is 56 & she is 58

I think Elizabeth in 1851 & 1861 is Elizabeth nee Potter

No death between 1841-1846 so I think the 1846 marriage is a different couple

the marriage in 1846 was to another female on the register page - Mary Dixon.

Did your George have a son called George as well? This could be the son's marriage.
