Her father died in 1897 aged 36 and 1901 census shows his widow Mary Lawrie in Musselburgh with children who have all been transcribed  on Ancestry as Laurie - dau. Mary has been listed as May.
Scotland's People indexes them all as Lawrie, and Mary is indexed as May.

I've done a search on Mary/May and Lawrie does indeed seem to be the most common spelling! Thank you.
You need to look at the original document (on Scotland's People) to see which is the correct indexing/transcription. My money (as always) is on Ancestry being wrong, because Ancestry is notorious for poor transcriptions, but you never know.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Mary Guelph Broome aged 81  born 20 Oct 1893
June qtr 1975  Sittingbourne   16   1743

It's rather interesting Mary has the middle name Guelph?

I thought the same. In my paternal grandfather's family, I noticed it was traditional for children to have their mother's maiden name as their middle name, so I presumed that was the same with Guelph. I wonder where it comes from. All I know is of the Guelph/Welf royal dynasty.
