Cannot see a marriage in either England or Scotland between a Broome & a Laurie that fits a 1930 birth.  There is one in 1959 which is well after her birth

If Laurie was previously married - she will have married Broome under her previous married name - but children born to the Broome marriage will show her actual birth surname

A good starting point would be to buy a copy of the 1930 birth cert which will show both parents christian names

I'll have a look, thank you.

As far as I know my father was the eldest child, so it's likely they married in the late 1950s. The details are hazy!

Your fathers parents were Colegrave & Broome.  You are looking for Pamelia's parents who were Broome & Laurie

There is another Broome/Laurie birth in 1932 - have a look at the 1939 register entry for that person which will answer the parental marriage date

Marriages December qtr 1951

That marriage would add up as my father's middle name is Arthur.

Perfect, those also match my Ancestry records after I typed the name in.

Not sure where the Edinburgh connection comes from but that will be for me to explore!

Thank you! I have enough information on the family to add to Ancestry and do some more research!

I'm looking for information on my paternal grandmother Pamelia/Pamela Broome (b. 1930)
they came from the Musselburgh region of Edinburgh.

This is on a resources board.

Can you tell us where you got the info. of the Musselburgh connection & what context?
