I think whoever contributed to the obituary assumed that a 9 year old would not make that journey without her parents or an accompanying adult.

Yes that would sounds about right hopefully !

on the off chance anyone else is reading this. I think I've worked out that the lady above them Mary Ann Fowler on the ship is their aunt. There is marriage for a Mary Ann Jackson marrying a William Henry Fowler 1851 in Cowbridge, Wales. Which would make more sense.

Hi

I have a copy of Rev Thomas Warren's book 'A history and genealogy of the Warren Family' which lists the Marnull Warrens, but I don't see any mention of your line.  So, just checking that your ancestors are definitely ex Marnull, Dorsetshire?

Kind regards

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I believe so, most of my work is done via the Dorset OPC website. This warren line only starts with Sarah Warren in 1838, whom married Robert Dawe. Sarah was the daughter on a James Warren born in Marnhull in 1797 unfortunately I cannot know which one as there were two born that year, one was baseborn to a Sarah Warren the other to a james and Hannah, I was hoping one day to find out if they could have been cousins and find a link back through that . I've attached the marriage certificate for Sarah to Robert, hopefully that help :) https://www.opcdorset.org/MarnhullFiles/MarnhullBaps3.htm

*I believe the children of Ann Stickland and James Warren were on the OPC marnhull but on the GRO registered for Sturminster

*My Sarah Warrens children were all born in Parkstone, I believe other than the siblings which died as infants and those that moved to Wales, Lucy and John stayed around the Marnhull area till their deaths but married in Fifehead Magdalen and Sturminster.
