Cyril Noel L'Angellier was born 8th Jan 1917. In 1939 he was living in Coton Cambridgeshire, lodging with his future wife Gertrude Hunt. He was recorded as a Student, presumably at Cambridge.
His father Rodilphe L'Angellier , born French Indo China 1869, died in Singapore 1945. (Ancestry)

He arrived from Singapore in 1936
P anO ship Naldera from Yokohama Japan to Plymouth arriving 11.9.1936
It called at Shanghai,Hong Kong; Singapore; Penang; Colombo; Bombay; Aden; Suez; Port Said; Malta; Marseilles; Gibraltar and Tangier.
He was in 2nd class and was going to 10 Steeles Road NW5 a student from Singapore aged 19 intending to reside in the Uk.

ps His Dad Rudolph C L'Angellier actually seems to have died Nov 1942 at Singapore although his death was not registered until 24.5.1946 by an M.A.Willis to the GB Colonial Office
He also informed about the death of a Maurice l'Angelllier  on the same date killed by a bomb 14.2.1942

I did see the reference to Rudolph 1942. According to the limited access I have to Ancestry, Rudolph and his wife, Bertha, had 11 (eleven) children including Cyril.

Looked through the 1869 Saigon Register of Births for Rodolphe Casimir L'Angellier, but couldn't find him there. Couldn't find him in 1868 or 1870 either.

Geneanet shows him as born in Saigon on 16 February 1869.
