Marriage?

My Great Grandfather Eli Northam born 1838, Devon married several times. In 1870 he married in Yarcombe a Sarah Ann Nills . There is another entry for this same marriage on Ancestry. Eli Northam and Sarah Ann Nibbs. Sarah's father being listed as James Shepherd.  I cannot find a birth for a Sarah Ann Nills or Nibbs. I can however find Sarah Ann Shepherd b. 1841 Stockland.  I have looked to see if their is a marriage but cannot find anything. . between Shepherd and Nills or Nibbs .  I would like to find out if Sarah Ann Shepherd and Sarah Ann Nills are indeed the same person. Any help much appreciated.

Is Sarah shown as a spinster or a widow on the 1870 marriage cert?

Did they have any children?  What maiden name is shown on the births

I haven't as yet got the marriage certificate. The entry on Ancestry says Sarah Ann Nibbs Of age Anglican father James Shepherd. I assumed that as it stated of age she would have been single.

She's a widow, and it's definitely NIBBS.

I have tried finding a marriage for Sarah but to no avail. I have tried Nibbs, Nills, Mills. She was still living with her parents in Otterford Somerset in the 1861 census. Single, servant.  Any marriage must have been after that.
 I'll keep looking. At least thanks to you  I have gleaned  information.
